Penhaligon’s presents an olfactory ballet, Iris Prima, by maestro Alberto Morillas. The spirit of the dance, bottled in a classical Penhaligon’s bottle, was created with the help of English National ballet soloists Lauretta Summerscales and Nathan Young, together with other dancers who helped Alberto catch the atmosphere of the theater, the scent of its mood, its passion and melancholy: the scent that can describe both hard work at the barre and a weightless pas that covers the stage like beautiful lace: the scent of costume fabrics and heavy curtains.
Iris Primа’s solo accord, as ss evident from the name, is Iris absolute. A fresh hesperidic note of bergamot opens the dance, introducing gorgeous pas des deux of Iris and Jasmine Sambac. Soft musky notes, as well as a package in a powdery beige-pink color, symbolize ballet shoes. Soft touches of sandalwood, vetiver, benzoin and vanilla incarnate the soul of an old theater.
